The EASA Storm began a new chapter in the organization's history by attending the 2017 NHL Sled Classic; Presented by the NHL, in Plymouth, Minnesota from November 16th to 19th, 2017. The team could have not done it without the support of the Edmonton Oilers, who provided the team with an endorsement letter to enable the team to participate in the tournament. The Oilers also generously donated a full roster set of their orange Adidas home jersey for the players to wear at the tournament.

The EASA Storm (Edmonton Oilers) were Tier III champions at the 2017 NHL Sled Classic going 5-0 in tournament play and defeated the Minnesota

4-2 in the final.
